Job Description:
As a member of the Global Aruba Networking Telco Solution Finance team, the Financial Analyst will play a critical role in supporting financial processes and activities. This includes reviewing contracts, building optimal financial models that balance customer expectations with company profitability, and managing P&L and Balance Sheets for Japan. The Financial Analyst will also provide key financial insights to support business partners in making informed decisions.
- Design and build optimal financial models to balance customer expectations and company profitability.
- Create pro-forma financial schedules for projects, including P&L and Cash Flow.
- Calculate and optimize financial metrics such as margin, payback, and NPV; assist in capital planning and asset financing.
- Review contract terms and conditions that affect pricing and risk, ensuring they are reflected in customer pricing.
- Provide financial inputs to proposals, pricing schedules, and other finance-related terms and conditions.
- Assess contracts to determine appropriate revenue and profit recognition policies.
- Ensure actuals reflect accurate business performance and are compliant with accounting and financial management (AFM) standards.
- Collaborate with Business Operations and Finance Accounting Management (FAM) to ensure accurate project accounting.
- Ensure correct booking of software and software support revenues in compliance with RRC (Revenue Recognition Compliance).
- Manage and control costs (including RCOW, TCOW, and n-TCOW).
- Submit Financial Data Entries (FDE) with narratives comparing to the latest Flash updates.
- Review Balance Sheet transactions, ensuring aged items are cleared promptly.
- Participate in Flash Calls, providing meaningful feedback when necessary.
- Support business targets by delivering ad-hoc outlooks (revenue, gross margin, product line splits, headcount), and performing key metric analyses.
- Represent the finance team on cross-functional projects, acting as the single point of contact (SPOC) for Controllership, GRRO, Legal, Compliance & Control (C&C), and Tax.
- Approve Direct Work Order (DWO) requests.
- Support policy and process improvements and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Identify financial issues and propose effective solutions.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Fluent in both English and Japanese.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in financial metrics calculation and project finance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced skills in business applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and influencing skills.
- Strong business acumen with an ability to support strategic decisions.
Education and Experience Required:
- First level university degree with a focus in Finance, Accountancy, business or economics; advanced degree or accounting certification (e.g., CPA, MBA) preferred.
- Typically 4+ years of experience as a financial analyst role.
- Typically experienced in more than one finance function .
