We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee our projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle, from planning and execution to completion, ensuring that all aspects meet the company's quality standards and client expectations. This role also requires engaging in tender preparation and presenting proposals to clients.

Key responsibilities:

Project planning and execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation. Oversee the execution of projects to ensure adherence to plans and specifications.

Team management:

Lead and manage project teams, including subcontractors and suppliers.

Budget management:

Prepare and manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost control measures are in place. Provide regular financial reports to management.

Stakeholder communication:

Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies. Provide updates on project progress, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction.

Quality assurance:

Implement quality control measures to ensure all work meets industry standard sand project specifications. Conduct regular site inspections and audits.

Risk management:

Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Reporting:

Prepare and present project status reports, including progress, challenges, and solutions, to senior management.

Tender stage responsibilities (if required to): Tender preparation and submission:

Work closely with the tendering team to prepare detailed project proposals, including scope, cost estimates, timelines, and technical requirements. Ensure the tender is in compliance with client specifications and company capabilities.

Vendor and subcontractor coordination:

Assist in evaluating subcontractors and suppliers during the tender process. Obtain and review quotations, negotiate terms, and ensure alignment with the project’s requirements.

Presentation to clients:

Present project plans, cost estimates, and timelines to clients during tender negotiations. Address client queries and concerns while ensuring a positive representation of the company’s capabilities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience supervising large-scale construction projects/ construction project management (no infrastructure/ oil & gas).
  • A minimum of 5 years in a Project Manager role.
  • A proven history of successfully managing and delivering complex construction projects on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
  • Experience in project management within a consultancy or architectural firm is an added advantage.
  • Experience in data center or semi-conductor projects is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Fluency in English. It involves presentation/ chairing meetings with clients and consultants.

Working conditions:

  • Fast track project.
  • Work primarily on construction sites, with occasional visits to the office.
  • Official working hours are from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. Always require long hours and weekend work to meet project deadlines.
  • Employment: Contract-based position, but typically, Japanese companies have a practice of converting staff to permanent roles after about two years of service, depending on performance and contribution.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM1,000.00 - RM13,000.00 per month
