Position : Aftermarket sales manager, Southeast Asia

We are presenting a European HQ based company in the field of automotive sector to appoint Aftermarket Sales Manager in Southeast Asia based in KL, Malaysia. This role reports to APAC commercial manager based in Australia and it is a team manager role to lead Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand aftermarket business.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Business development

To understand the market dynamics, define strategies, develop and carry out plans in terms of channel and product offering to ensure the development and later realization of budget and 5 years business plan targets.

Initiate projects to facilitate new customers /channels, expansion of the product range, etc.

Engage the marketing and product team as and when necessary.

2. Customer management

Responsible for distributor policy, recruitment, evaluation and termination process, and strategic relationship maintenance in line with the company’s policies and procedures.

Lead the Yearly and ad-hoc negotiations of customers over terms and conditions

and commercial / marketing policies of contract

3. Pricing and Receivables:

Formulate, recommend and implement pricing policy and payment terms in line with aftermarket product positioning strategy across the area and in line with the company’s policies and procedures.

Work closely with APAC product marketing and finance controller to conduct marketing price monitoring and execution activities.

Ensure receivables from customers are paid on time.

Ensure profitability and margin expansion of each account.

4. Demand overview

Responsible for sales forecast providing to consensus demand forecast meeting.

Cross validation with area sales managers for demand updates, interact with supply chain team on replenishment of key products, give solution for slow moving products

5. Team management

Lead, coach and develop Southeast Asia team members to continuously enhance the local organizational competence.

Conduct annual performance appraisal exercise for team members, define improvement plan and monitor actions for low performers.

6. Other activities

Work collaboratively with regional and central functions.

Qualification:

Education: BS degree in business and engineering combined. MBA favourable.

Professional experience and track record:

  • 10-15 years’ experience in automotive aftermarket industry from a large multinational company in a similar role
  • Deep understanding in the automotive aftermarket, especially in brake system segment. Knowledge of motorbike and upgrade (tuning) products will be a big plus.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing key strategic initiatives within a complex business environment.

  • Strong communication skills both oral and written. Experiences in engagement with senior internal and external business stakeholders.
  • Teamwork spirit. Track record in good collaborations with various supporting functions
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to develop and implement long-term strategies that align with organizational goals, while identifying new opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Hands-On Leadership: Demonstrates a practical, action-oriented approach to problem-solving.

    • P&L and Sales Budget Management:. Develop, manage, and execute sales budgets, driving revenue growth while optimizing cost efficiencies to maximize profitability.

    Language:

    • Fluent English speaker, knowledge or mastering of additional Asian / Southeast Asian language is a plus (Malay, Chinese, etc.) due to business needs

    Travel: Has the necessary flexibility to travel extensively as needed
