Packaging Specialist

Main activities and responsibilities:

• Key Focus: Sourcing/ Supply Chain Optimization, Quality Improvements, Sustainability.
• Packaging development for high-quality cosmetic products for our licensed and own brands for Asian filling sites, in close cooperation with the Global Packaging Team based in Germany.
• Ensure compatibility for filling in Asian locations.

Packaging Development

• Independent management of Asian packaging projects for validation and implementation in the area of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging in close cooperation with the Global Packaging Team.
• Participation in international development teams for the validation of tooling duplications or mould modifications for optimal performance in close cooperation with the Global Packaging Team.
• Participation in international development teams for the validation of backup materials to optimize the existing supply chain in close cooperation with the Global Packaging Team.
• Upkeep documentation and specifications of packaging materials according to technical, ecological, commercial, and regulatory requirements.
• Key technical contact for Purchasing, Production, Quality, and Packaging suppliers from development to serial production for all Asian packaging projects.

Continuous Improvement

• Leading and driving Operational Excellence projects to optimize current production processes – in close collaboration with Production and Quality departments, relevant suppliers, as well Purchasing and Master Data Teams.
• Key partner for Quality Teams to resolve quality problems - including root causes analysis, identification and implementation of relevant solutions.
• Identification & Evaluation of new packaging suppliers in close cooperation with procurement to enlarge ADA´s supplier pool in the Asian region.
• Harmonization of supplier´s output to reach ADA standards together with quality and purchasing.
• Participation in process and system optimization – including master data management.

Sustainability

• Participation in sustainability projects - via innovative formats/materials or via optimization of the current portfolio.
• Supporting market screening and analysis for the latest sustainability developments in the packaging industry.

• Good project management skills and experience in leading interdisciplinary projects - with internal & external partners.
• Good understanding of quality requirements for products and their applications.
• Hands-on attitude - independent, responsible, and result-oriented way of working.
• Good communication and social skills as well as an analytical mindset.
• Good problem-solving skills, detail-oriented.
• Keen eye for opportunities to optimize existing packaging solutions.
• Very good computer skills in MS Office.
• Knowledge of 3D CAD.
• Very good written and spoken English, other languages would be an advantage.

Needed Education:

• Completed studies in the field of packaging engineering, plastics technology, mechanical/ industrial engineering; or training as a technician in packaging/ plastics manufacturing, mechanical engineering; or equivalent.

Needed experience:

• At least 3 years of working experience in the field of cosmetics packaging, in the development of plastic packaging and other materials or their production or processing.
• Knowledge of filling machines and packaging/ plastics manufacturing.
• Experience and understanding of the current Sustainability landscape within the Packaging industry.
