Role Description

We are searching for a Buyer or Purchasing Agent. The candidate is responsible for purchasing, pricing, and overseeing consumer products and supplies for Lapasar. Duties included negotiating deals with suppliers, researching possible product selections, and taking inventory of current products.

Main responsibilities:

  • Manage existing and new brands listed. Grow and improve the top and bottom lines of the products
  • Manage existing and sourcing of new potential supply partners
  • Ensure stock level is maintained as per capacity and manage potential out-of-stock situations
  • Maintaining a robust relationship with suppliers and managing vendor performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and performance metrics.
  • Liaise with cross-departmental functions to ensure the above line items are secured
  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders such as the production, finance, and logistics departments to ensure alignment of procurement activities with business goals.
  • Monitoring and managing purchase orders done by the ordering team
  • Monitoring inventory levels and placing orders to replenish stocks as needed while avoiding excess or insufficient inventory.
  • Negotiating contracts with suppliers to obtain the best terms of purchase, including discounts, shipping, and payment terms.
  • Assessing procurement needs and developing a clear strategy for purchasing goods and services.
  • Conducting market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings in terms of quality, price, and reliability.
  • Ensuring adherence to legal, environmental, and regulatory requirements in the purchasing process.

Key Tasks and Duties

  • To accomplish their responsibilities, Buyers must perform several critical tasks routinely:
  • Review and process purchase requisitions, converting them into purchase orders
  • Track orders and confirm system lead times, delivery dates, and costs.
  • Reconcile invoices and forward them for payment.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all purchasing activities, including procurement requests, purchase orders, and spending analyses.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and purchasing practices through continuous professional development and networking.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is typically required.
  • Additional certifications can enhance a candidate’s credentials.
  • Hands-on experience with purchasing software and tools is highly beneficial.
