As the Group Project Manager Engineering at Vanderlande, you will oversee the successful execution of multiple large-scale engineering projects across our Airport and Parcel Solutions (APS) business unit. In this strategic leadership role, you will manage cross-functional engineering teams and ensure alignment with Vanderlande’s operational goals, customer needs, and industry standards. Your expertise in project management and deep knowledge of BHS and parcel solutions will drive efficient execution, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage medium to large-scale engineering projects across the Airport and Parcel Solutions, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and budgets.
  • Oversee the development of project plans, schedules, and resource allocations to ensure efficient project execution and minimize delays.
  • Manage and coordinate cross-functional engineering teams, including Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Systems engineers, fostering collaboration across teams and regions to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the project teams, senior management, customers, and external stakeholders, ensuring that project objectives and deliverables are clearly communicated and aligned with business goals.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks, ensuring that potential challenges are addressed promptly and that projects stay on track.
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring financial performance is aligned with goals, providing accurate financial forecasts, and ensuring cost controls are in place.
  • Implement best practices in project management, ensuring that all projects comply with industry standards, contractual obligations, and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to manage contracts, procurement processes, and vendor relationships, ensuring alignment with project timelines and technical requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, or a related discipline).
  • 15+ years of experience managing medium to large-scale engineering projects, with a focus on BHS or parcel solutions.
  • Proven track record in managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery and alignment with customer and business objectives.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage geographically dispersed teams and foster collaboration across regions.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (PMP or similar certification preferred).
  • Strong financial management skills, with experience overseeing project budgets and ensuring cost-effective solutions.
