Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Location: Regional Support Office, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Job Summary:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead the financial operations for our regional support office, overseeing 5 fitness brands with 150 clubs and over 4000 staff across Asia. This role is responsible for the strategic financial planning, management, and reporting that ensures the continued growth and stability of the organization. The CFO will work closely with the executive team to drive financial performance, optimize resources, and support the organization’s expansion and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Planning:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies that support the company’s goals and objectives across the region.
  • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and executive team to inform business decisions.
  • Lead the financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.

Financial Management and Reporting:

  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, treasury, tax, and compliance for the 150 clubs in the region.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with local and international accounting standards.
  • Manage cash flow, optimize working capital, and ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and manage financial risks, including currency exchange, credit, and market risks.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead risk assessment processes and develop mitigation strategies to protect the organization’s financial health.

Resource Optimization:

  • Drive cost-efficiency initiatives to optimize operational expenses across the region.
  • Evaluate and manage investment opportunities, capital expenditures, and asset utilization to ensure maximum ROI.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to streamline processes and improve financial performance across all clubs.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture that aligns with the company’s values.
  • Promote a collaborative working environment, ensuring that financial objectives are communicated clearly across all levels of the organization.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to ensure the finance team stays ahead of industry trends and regulatory changes.

Stakeholder Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, auditors, investors, and other external stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization in financial discussions with partners, ensuring transparency and alignment with corporate goals.
  • Act as a key point of contact for all financial matters within the region.

Technology and Innovation:

  • Leverage financial technology to enhance reporting, data analysis, and decision-making processes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, including advancements in financial technology, to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Implement financial systems and tools that support the scalability and efficiency of the organization.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or Master’s degree in Finance is preferred.
  • CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification is highly desirable.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing the finances of a multi-site operation, ideally within the fitness, retail, or hospitality sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the financial regulations and market conditions across Asia.
