About the role:
The Account Manager will be responsible for achieving sales targets across all assigned territories (Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand) by strategically planning, executing sales initiatives, and promoting Wiley’s comprehensive suite of online research solutions and services. Proactively managing resources to optimize revenue generation across the territory.

About the role:
The Account Manager will be responsible for achieving sales targets across all assigned territories (Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand) by strategically planning, executing sales initiatives, and promoting Wiley’s comprehensive suite of online research solutions and services. Proactively managing resources to optimize revenue generation across the territory.
How you will make an impact:
Sales Management and Client Relationships
- Proactively promote and sell all Wiley Research Products & Solutions, including both Journals and Non-Journals, in alignment with agreed-upon sales plans aimed at achieving revenue growth targets.
- Sustain renewal revenue streams from existing customers and capitalize on every opportunity to enhance the value of licenses.
- Conduct risk analysis and manage assessments across customers within all assigned territories, while strategically planning contingencies to mitigate risks and ensure the achievement of sales targets.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities in new and current markets by leveraging existing products, introducing new products, or repurposing existing content to expand business opportunities.
- Develop and oversee a results-driven sales pipeline within Wileys Customer Management Systems to effectively achieve sales targets.
- Effectively oversee and cultivate profitable relationships with agents and distributors to promote and sell all of Wiley Researchs products and solutions, ensuring sustainable growth.
- Collaborate closely with marketing to craft and implement a robust marketing strategy for academic and non-academic markets.
- Articulate and present Wiley Research products, solutions, and policies persuasively and intelligently to individuals and groups.
- Partner with marketing and editorial teams to assess marketing needs for new products, services, and sales initiatives.
- Partner with the sales administration team to promptly address all customer inquiries, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with relevant departments and teams across Wiley to ensure timely resolution of issues such as agent agreements, misrepresentations in territories under your responsibility, and support issues outside the scope of sales administration, maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Acquire a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape to effectively position Wiley’s products and solutions.
- Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager to develop an overarching sales plan, including regular forecasting and updates on key sales opportunities.
- Monitor daily sales performance against targets and provide regular reports on the status of licensing negotiations and other sales activities.
- 5-10 years of experience in sales, with a focus on account management and achieving assigned sales targets
- Sales experience in academic publishing would be desired
- Strong general management and business skills, particularly in developing and growing the assigned territories.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Confident working independently and collaboratively with others.
- Initiative, creative thinking, and strong organizational skills.
- Fluent in Malay and excellent proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time within the assigned territories
