Job Summary We are looking for an enthusiastic and responsible Forest Facilitator and Transporter to support our kids’ outdoor trips. This role involves transporting students safely to and from nature destinations and leading them in nature-based learning experiences. The ideal candidate will have a passion for environmental education, excellent interpersonal skills with children, and a knack for inspiring curiosity about the natural world. Key Responsibilities Transportation: Ensure safe and timely transport of students from school to the forest or nature reserve and back. Forest Facilitation: Lead engaging, age-appropriate activities that introduce children to the forest environment, wildlife, and basic survival skills. Teach children how to observe and interact with nature responsibly, covering topics like forest safety, plant identification, and ecosystem roles. Plan and conduct activities that develop teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in the natural environment. Safety Management: Maintain high standards of safety and manage first aid situations if necessary. Conduct risk assessments for outdoor activities and communicate safety guidelines to students before the trip. Supervision: Actively supervise children to ensure their well-being, safety, and positive group interactions. Collaborate with teachers and trip coordinators to manage schedules and maintain a structured, enjoyable trip experience. Trip Organization: Coordinate with other staff on materials and equipment needed for activities. Prepare and bring necessary tools, maps, and guides to enhance the outdoor experience. Qualifications Education/Experience: Background in outdoor education, environmental science, or a related field. Prior experience in leading children’s outdoor activities is preferred. Transport License: Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, with experience driving groups. Skills: Strong communication and leadership skills to engage children effectively. Basic first aid certification (or willingness to obtain) and knowledge of outdoor safety protocols. An enthusiastic, energetic approach to teaching and interacting with children. Additional Information Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in varied weather, lead hikes, and carry equipment.
