Architectural Designer (Bamboo Specialist)

Job Overview We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Architectural Designer (Bamboo Specialist) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sustainable design principles and experience in various building types including residential, commercial, and public structures. This role will work closely with other members of our design and project teams to create innovative, functional, and environmentally-friendly architectural solutions. Key Responsibilities: • Design & Development: o Lead the design and development of architectural projects from concept to completion. o Prepare architectural drawings, models, and presentations that meet client and regulatory requirements. o Incorporate sustainable design principles into architectural solutions, with a focus on the use of bamboo and other regenerative materials. • Project Management: o Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the design and construction process. o Ensure that project milestones are achieved on time and within budget. o Manage bamboo prefabrication process and site visits and ensure that construction adheres to design specifications and quality standards. • Budgeting and Cost Control: o Create and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities. o Ensure projects stay within budget by monitoring financial performance and making adjustments as necessary. • Client and Stakeholder Communication: o Serve as the main point of contact for clients, keeping them updated on project progress and addressing their concerns. o Provide regular status reports to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency throughout the project. • Contract Management: o Negotiate and manage contracts with contractors, suppliers, and vendors. o Ensure contractual obligations are met and handle any disputes that may arise during the project. • Resource Management: o Allocate materials, equipment, and personnel effectively to optimize efficiency and productivity. o Ensure resources are used sustainably, particularly in line with SEAD Build's commitment to environmentally responsible construction. • Documentation and Reporting: o Maintain thorough project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and compliance records. o Prepare project close-out reports summarizing key outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations for future projects. • Continuous Improvement and Innovation: o Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in civil engineering and project management. o Propose innovative solutions to improve project efficiency and sustainability. • Collaboration: o Work closely with internal teams including structural engineers, civil engineers, and environmental consultants to ensure cohesive project execution. o Provide mentorship and guidance to interns. Requirements: • Qualifications: o Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Architecture or related field. o Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Architect or related specialist. o Proven experience in sustainable architecture and materials, preferably with exposure to bamboo construction. • Skills: o Proficiency in architectural design software (Rhino, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.). o Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction processes. o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. o Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. o Strong project management and time management skills. o Experience in designing bamboo structures is a plus. o Experience in timber craftsmanship is a plus. • Personal Attributes: o Passionate about sustainability and eco-friendly design. o Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills. o Detail-oriented and highly organized. o Hands-on.
