Purchasing managers are in charge of buying goods, equipment and services for their company, and try to ensure the most competitive prices. They are also responsible for negotiating contracts, reviewing the quality of products and analyzing suppliers , and the use and resale of goods and services. Responsibility : 1. Procurement and Sourcing - Develop and execute purchasing strategies for essential materials, products, and services. - Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and timeliness. - Conduct supplier audits and evaluations to ensure adherence to quality standards. 2. Vendor Management - Establish and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms. - Monitor vendor performance and address issues promptly to maintain a reliable supply chain. - Collaborate with suppliers to improve quality, efficiency, and costs. 3.Cost Management and Budgeting - Develop and manage the purchasing budget, ensuring procurement activities align with financial goals. - Analyze and forecast market trends and pricing, adjusting procurement plans accordingly. - Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality standards. 4. Inventory and Demand Planning - Work with other departments to monitor stock levels and forecast demand. - Coordinate with inventory management to prevent stockouts or overstock situations. - Manage reorder points and lead times to optimize inventory levels. 5. Compliance and Documentation - Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements. - Maintain accurate records of purchasing transactions, supplier agreements, and other relevant documentation. - Regularly review and update procurement policies and procedures. 6. Reporting and Analysis - Generate regular reports on purchasing activities, costs, and vendor performance. - Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. - Present findings and recommendations to management to support strategic decision-making.
