Attend to Electrical and Structural Repairs on Dredger Scope of work for a skilled technician responsible for the repair and troubleshooting of electrical components and structural issues on the dredger. 1. The technician will ensure the vessel operates efficiently and safely while working closely with the Chief Engineer. 2. Objectives • To effectively troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and structural damages on the dredger. • To ensure smooth operational efficiency of marine equipment through proactive maintenance and testing. 3. Scope of Work The technician will be responsible for the following tasks: • Electrical Engineering Expertise o Utilize a strong background in electrical engineering to diagnose and repair electrical issues onboard the vessel. o Apply practical experience in fabrication works and troubleshooting both in shipyards and onboard. • Onboard Collaboration o Remain onboard the dredger and work alongside the Chief Engineer until all repairs are completed, ensuring the vessel functions optimally. • Team Leadership o Lead a team of welders and fitters in executing vessel repairs, ensuring effective communication and task delegation. • Testing and Validation o Conduct functional and performance testing of installed electrical systems to guarantee operational efficiency. o Document test results and make necessary adjustments to optimize performance. • Proactive Maintenance o Carry out regular inspections to identify wear and tear on electrical systems and structural components. o Perform risk assessments and implement proactive maintenance measures to prevent future issues. • Structural Repairs o Attend to vessel repairs, specifically troubleshooting electrical components and providing welding and fitting services for structural damages (e.g., leaks in the bottom hull). o Remain onboard for more than 5 days, if necessary, to oversee repairs and participate in pre-commissioning activities, including documentation and reporting. • Safety Requirements o Must be a competent swimmer, as the technician will be working on marine equipment at high seas. 4. Deliverables • Comprehensive reports on repairs conducted, including test results and maintenance recommendations. • Documentation of all pre-commissioning activities and inspections.
