Responsibilities: • Handle regular preventive maintenance on the IP VPN backbone network. • Support the expansion, upgrades and rollouts of new network infrastructure involving hardware such as routers and switches, associated software, network monitoring and management systems. • Support engineering teams on new product/ feature implementation, node deployment and technical support matters. • Responsible for troubleshooting and timely resolution of faults/issues within the MPLS VPN network services. • Analyse IP network performance and take proactive actions and preventive measures to monitor and enhance the network performance including software and hardware upgrades, etc. • Prepare statistical reports on network and equipment performance. • Perform Network performance analysis. Requirements: • Degree in Electrical / Electronic / Computer Engineering / Computer Science / Information Systems from a recognized institution. • Have at least 5 years working experience in IP network. • Possess expertise with routers and switches installation e.g. Cisco, Juniper • Possess basic knowledge of office applications skills e.g. Excel, Visio, Word. • Possess the followings: o Good understanding of Internet routing protocols and technologies including TCP/IP, OSFP, ISIS, BGP, MPLS/VPN • Knowledge of routers/switches architecture and software upgrade procedure. Good analytical and trouble-shooting skills in the area of technical fault isolation and rectification. • Those who have the following will have an added advantage: o Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP) or Juniper certifications (JNCIA, JNCIS) o Working experience in the operation of IP VPN network of global Tier1/Tier2 service providers. • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills. Must be a team player • Self-starter and highly driven with the ability to work independently, as well as in a team. • Knowledge in NFV/SDN. Experience in design and implementation would be an advantage. • Scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Python)
