Summary 1. General duties of SHO are to ensure compliance and to promote a safe conduct of work. Regulatory responsibilities of SHO are specifically prescribed in the Occupational Safety & Health (Safety & Health Officer) Regulations. 2. SHO should be advice employer to achieve the objective of protecting fellow worker from construction works hazards. SHO has specific knowledge on: * OSH Legislations * Occupational risk assessment * Preparation of safe operation procedure * Monitoring the effectiveness of control measures. * Encouraging worker's participation; and * Continuously improving to ensure sustained compliance to OSH law SHO Performance: To develop and to fulfill their prescribed duties under law, with leading indicators on: * Employer's commitment, legal compliance, worker participation and effectiveness of control measures at workplace * Assist employer in his continuous and systematic efforts in controlling every hazard that can harm his worker and other person. * Prepare report on the total numbers of notice received over the whole period of project. * Representative of the employer in any project Requirement: * Possess Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or Electrical or any relevant field; * more than 1 year experience in Occupational Safety & Health * Possess Safety Green Book from DOSH *Strong knowledge of OSHA, rules and regulations *Effective communications skills, problem solving skills *Able to work under pressure
