Role Purpose
- Take a leadership role in developing the school’s strategic and operational planning so as to achieve strategic direction and goals.
- Responsible to facilitate learning and carry out research activities in the IMU. Teach academic subjects to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Teaching methods include lectures, seminars, tutorials, problem solving learning, practical laboratory demonstrations, field work and e-learning. Multimedia technologies are increasingly used.
- Provide strong and committed leadership in teaching and curriculum development.
- Play a significant role in research projects including providing leadership to research teams. Encouraged to pursue own areas of research and develop these in order to contribute to the wider research activities of the department.
- Involved in academic management work as and when required by the Head of Department. This includes coordination work, eg module, semester, etc. May take on a pastoral role to mentor and guide students.
Job Requirements
- Minimum Masters or postgraduate degree in a related field (Business Administration/Healthcare Management/Management). A PhD degree will be preferred.
- Extensive experience as a tenured Professor or similar academic position, demonstrating a strong record of teaching, research, and publications.
- Actively involved in teaching activities and produced innovations in curriculum development and delivery.
- A distinguished research portfolio with a track record of publications in high-impact journals and active involvement in academic conferences.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage students, colleagues, and the broader academic community.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative academic environment.
- Proven ability to mentor and supervise graduate students and junior faculty, nurturing their academic and professional growth.
- Experience in securing research grants and external funding is highly desirable.
