What you'll be doing

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and assess suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery
Streamline procurement processes and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency
Maintain strong relationship with suppliers inside and outside of Malaysia.
Develop and implement procurement strategies to improve cost-efficiency, quality, and reliability of supplies
Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and make recommendations to maintain optimal stock levels
Analyze market trends, industry regulations, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvement
Provide regular reports and presentations to management on procurement activities and key performance indicators
Mentor and train junior members of the procurement team to support their professional development

What we're looking for

Minimum 5 years' of experience in a procurement or supply chain role, preferably in the Chemical or Trading
Strong expertise in suppliers’ management, ideally with exposure to global or regional market.
Able to travel locally and abroad to maintain strong relationship with vendors.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to optimize inventory and procurement strategies
Bachelor's degree with experience in Procurement roles, with a preference for experience in Chemical, Trading, or Manufacturing industries.
Experience in sourcing from overseas suppliers would be an added advantage.
Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred as the role requires liaising with Mandarin-speaking suppliers.
