Purpose of the Role
Essential job duties seen on a Raw Materials Sourcing Supervisor are assisting Procurement & SCM Manager on sourcing strategies, discovering new suppliers, negotiating prices with vendors, examining existing contracts, and finding ways to reduce procurement costs.
Key Accountabilities
Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize costs related to raw materials sourcing & acquisition through supplier negotiation, process improvements, & alternative sourcing strategies.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that sourced raw materials meet quality standards & specifications required for BSF processing, collaborating with FSRA teams to establish & maintain quality control procedures.
Timely Delivery: Coordinate with suppliers, transporters partners & internal team to ensure timely delivery of raw materials to meet production schedules & minimize downtime.
Risk Management: Identify & mitigate risks associated with raw materials sourcing & acquisition, such as supply chain disruptions, price fluctuation, & quality issues.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the sourcing & acquisition process, leveraging data analysis & feedback to identify areas for enhancement & efficiency gains.
Market Research: Conduct market research & analysis to identify potential sources of raw materials, evaluating factors such as cost, quality & reliability.
Supplier Database: Develop & maintain a supplier database, assessing supplier’s capabilities, performance, & reliability through regular audits & evaluations.
Suppliers Contracts & Agreements: Negotiate contracts & agreements with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms & conditions while safeguarding the interest of the company that streamline the onboarding process.
Reporting: Prepare reports & presentations for management, summarizing key sourcing metrics, performance trends, & strategic initiatives.
Collaborative Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, FRSA, and R&D, to ensure seamless integration of raw materials sourcing & acquisition processes with overall factory operations.
Total Cost of Ownership (TCO): Assess the total cost associated with acquiring & owning raw materials, including purchase price, transportation costs, inventory carrying costs & any additional expenses incurred throughout the supply chain.
Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing: Develop & execute strategies for sourcing raw materials required for BSF feed formulation, ensuring alignment with the Factory’s production target & budgetary.
Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate & maintain relationships with raw materials suppliers, negotiating contracts, terms, & pricing to secure the best possible deals while maintaining quality standards.
Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations & standards governing the sourcing & acquisition of raw materials, including environmental regulations, quality standards & factory’s policies.
Inventory Management: Oversees the inventory of raw materials, ensuring optimal levels are maintained to support uninterrupted production while minimizing carrying cost & waste.
Team Leadership: Provide leadership & guidance to SCM staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability & continuous improvement.
Requirements & Person Specifications
· Minimum a diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, or Business.
· At least 2-3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain, preferably in raw materials sourcing, exposure to warehousing and fleet management is added advantage.
· Familiarity with procurement software, google drive and Microsoft Office, especially Excel for tracking orders and supplier data.
· Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
· Problem investigation & problem-solving capabilities.
· Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and compliance standards.
Reporting Lines & Supervision
You will report directly to the Procurement & SCM Manager.
You will be responsible for the management of the SCM Assistant.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM3,300.00 - RM3,600.00 per month
