Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for an engineering discipline. Each day, you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation Business in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
You will be mainly accountable for:
The Process Industries Division serves the mining, minerals processing, metals, cement, pulp and paper, battery manufacturing, and food and beverage, as well as their associated service industries. The Division brings deep industry domain expertise coupled with the ability to integrate both automation and electrical systems, increase productivity and reduce overall capital and operating costs for customers. For mining, metals and cement customers, solutions include specialized products and services, as well as total production systems. The Division designs, plans, engineers, supplies, installs and commissions integrated electrical and motion systems, including electric equipment, drives, motors, high power rectifiers and equipment for automation and supervisory control within a variety of areas including mineral handling, mining operations, aluminum smelting, hot and cold steel applications and cement production. The offering for the pulp and paper industries includes control systems, quality control systems, drive systems, on-line sensors, actuators and field instruments. Digitalization solutions, including collaborative operations and augmented reality, help improve plant and enterprise productivity, and reduce maintenance and energy costs.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation Business in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, clients, and proposal team.
- Engineering and design of DCS system for Industries e.g. Mining, Pulp & Paper, Cement, Metals, and others.
- Maintain a strategic approach to project engineering, implementation and on-time completion with quality satisfaction
- Deliver site installation supervision, commissioning, performance acceptance of DCS projects and services
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline (B.Sc/ M.Sc/ B.Eng) with min.5 years hands-on experience with drive and automation system integration working experience for projects serving customers in the Pulp & Paper, Cement or Metals/Mining industries and power plant.
- Experience with software and design of e.g. control systems, VVVF applications.
- Experience with ABB Control Builder for drive system programming is a plus, Engineering and commissioning knowledge of ACS800/ACS880 Single and Multidrive, LV switchgears (MCC, PCC) is an advantage
- Good understanding and experience in preparing and supplying technical project documentation in accordance with customer requirements and specifications.
- Must be familiar with relevant codes, international standards, client Design Specifications and procedures, and have a thorough working knowledge of the latest design and analytical techniques.
- Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office applications, Autocad and/or VISIO software.
- Good English communication knowledge in writing and verbal.
