What will you do?
In this position, you will join our Buildings business, where you will play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our clients across all types of projects. We know the work we do is vital in assisting our world’s economic development and, it is the technical expertise and the depth of knowledge of our people that really sets us apart. Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’.
- Lead projects in the capacity of Mechanical engineering from initial scoping through detailed design and commissioning and handover across a wide variety of projects, including preparation of technical specifications, reports, and estimates.
- Involved in tender preparation and negotiations with clients to achieve commercially profitable business objectives.
- Engage directly with clients and colleagues to deliver successful outcomes to contribute to work winning and market development.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on engineering projects, including feasibility studies, design reviews, and troubleshooting.
- Develop and analyze mechanical designs, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and proposals.
- Collaborate with other engineers, designers, and project team members to deliver successful projects.
- Act as a technical expert to mentor and develop other Mechanical engineers within the team, and provide Mechanical design expertise in overseeing all technical aspects of projects
- Provide client consultation by drawing on professional expertise and deep knowledge of Aurecon’s consultancy services.

What can you bring to the team?
Firstly, you will share our genuine passion for re-imagining engineering and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future. You will also need the following:
- Bachelors' degree in Mechanical Engineering, with at least 8 -10 years related professional experience in buildings services, of which 2 to 3 years are in data centre design or related.
- A strong background in building Mechanical design within a consulting environment will be advantageous.
- A strong interest in working on innovative, energy efficient and sustainable projects.
- Project leadership and management experience, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- You should be pro-active with the ability to work independently or part of a team and possess good communication skills and business acumen.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, proven business development and account management skills.
- High level of computer literacy and exposure to BIM / Revit will be highly desired, with advanced problem-solving skills through investigation and analysis.
- Literacy in the use of digital tools such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk Naviswork, BIM360 and drive BIM processes.
- Strong ability in navigating 3D BIM model to review multi-disciplinary design, identify issues, provide solutions and delegate the design team to resolve them.
