Accounts Head | Construction Company | Ulu Tiram

Company Background:
Our client is a renowned construction company with over 20 years of experience in the industry, specializing in building, residential and sewerage construction. They have collaborated with numerous renowned developers, such as EcoWorld, Crescendo, and Country View, in Johor. Their company located at Ulu Tiram.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified Head of Accounts to manage and oversee all financial activities related to construction projects (both pre- and post-construction phases). The successful candidate will ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies while delivering accurate financial insights to support business decision-making.

Salary Range: RM15,000 and above (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management:

• Lead and manage the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Monitor the financial performance of construction projects, both pre- and post-construction, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations, including corporate tax planning and filing.

2. Construction Accounting:

• Ensure accurate tracking of project costs, job costing, revenue recognition, and allocation of costs to projects.
• Manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounts and ensure proper accounting treatment for construction contracts.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to provide financial guidance on project budgeting and cost management.

3. Tax and Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with company tax regulations and reporting, including timely and accurate tax filings (corporate income tax, GST/SST, withholding tax, etc.).
• Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies to maintain good standing.
• Keep updated with changes in tax regulations and accounting standards, ensuring proper implementation.

4. Financial Reporting & Analysis:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports with detailed variance analysis and insights into the financial health of projects.
• Provide financial forecasts and scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making.

5. Leadership:

• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support for professional development.
• Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within the finance team.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Chartered Accountant with ACCA, CPA, or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of construction accounting.
• Extensive experience in corporate taxation and compliance.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM15,000.00 - RM20,000.00 per month
