Who will you be working for:
Our client is a global Canadian MNC and their presence and operations in Asia is growing at a rapid rate. The Company seeks to recruit a strong leader to head their Penang Operations based in Bukit Mertajam.
What you will be doing:
- Design and implement plans with Corporate HQ for the effective utilization of the assets, materials and the manpower resources to achieve manufacturing targets and the Global KPI performances.
- Ensure full EHS compliances in the workplace as per regulatory requirements and corporate standards.
- Ensure full compliances of all local legal and statutory requirements and bylaws.
- Supervise the operations of the manufacturing process to be within budget, meeting time schedule, productivity, quality, cost, efficiency, according to the Global KPI metrics.
- Oversee the hiring, orientating, and training of the facility employees to ensure a reliable and competent workforce.
- Ensure the reliability and efficiency of the facility equipment, production machineries are maintained with minimum downtime with the PM program being executed consistently and satisfactorily to support smooth and uninterrupted operations of the facility.
- Analyze and provide solutions to manufacturing challenges or problems. Conduct studies and research to discover a more safe and effective approach to production, removing work constraints, improve efficiency, and to drive continuous improvements.
- Work with the quality assurance department to ensure the product quality and specifications are consistent, and the work processes are adhering to the SOP and requirements of ISO 9001 Quality Management System and customers’ requirements.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales staff to implement strategies that will improve the marketability of manufactured products. Ensure customer satisfaction on services and products provided and prevent customer complaints.
- Oversee production planning and ensure optimal levels of inventory to maintain excellent delivery performance of our finished products.
- Ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of logistics including customer order acceptance, deliveries, and warehousing. Oversee the procurement, negotiation, quality and cost of raw materials, services and equipment required for the manufacturing and operations in a timely manner.
- Conduct daily and weekly meetings with employees to ensure that the operations are following the safety, health and environment standards and meeting company targets.
- Ensure all HR functions and support are being carried out accordingly in staffing, training, implementation of company policies, work discipline and attendance.
- Safeguard the company assets and general facility upkeep.
- Supervisory responsibilities: Manufacturing Manager, Purchasing/Logistics Executive, HR Executive, Production Planner, Process Engineer.
What you will need to succeed:
Competencies
The ideal candidate for the Senior Operations Manager will bring strong leadership experience gained in the manufacturing industry. He/she will have a demonstrated ability of creating win-win solutions for customers and internal partners. Prior experience should include leadership of operations, logistics, fulfillment and customer service in addition to exposure to strong P&L leadership activities.
1. A hands-on leader willing to roll up their sleeves and do whatever is necessary to ensure the Company’s success.
2. Ability to create a results driven, team oriented environment.
3. Excellent managerial skills. Demonstrated experience managing multiple team projects in a deadline driven environment.
4. Experience in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF16949, lean, 6-sigma, Kaizen, process improvement is added advantage.
5. Excellent organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
6. Strong written and oral communication skills. Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to formulate recommendations regarding challenges, methods and solutions. Ability to communicate clearly in both positive and negative situations.
7. Attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Minimum 10 years’ experience leading and building operations in a related environment.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or operations or equivalent is required. At least 10 years work experience in operations roles or management consulting is required, Experience with implementation of corrective action programs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM12,000.00 - RM20,000.00 per month
