Job Description & Summary

A career within Assurance Support Services, will provide the opportunity to support our engagement teams and clients by providing advice and counsel on accounting, financial reporting, and strategic business issues. In joining, you’ll help ensure a complete and relevant exchange of information among our consultants and in turn with engagement teams and clients, provide experts advice on a variety of specific topics, support engagement teams in resolving complex issues, and supporting clients and their subsidiaries in evaluating the potential impact of accounting and reporting standard setting initiatives. You’ll develop strong relationships with our engagement teams and established audit clients and enhance our ability to meet greater investor expectations with the challenges of an increasingly complex business environment.

Our team works closely with engagement teams, PwC leadership, PwC counsel, and other groups within PwC to identify and manage practice matters. You’ll play an integral role in developing policy, processes, and tools to support the assurance practice and will interact daily with engagement teams to help staff navigate the challenging and highly judgmental aspect of the audit practice.

The Sustainability Risk Services Associate will support clients in developing and implementing effective sustainability strategies and initiatives. This role involves conducting research, analyzing data, providing recommendations, and assisting with the integration of sustainability into business operations. The successful candidate needs to be passionate about sustainability, possess strong analytical skills, and have the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Engagement:

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their sustainability objectives and challenges.
  • Provide guidance on best practices, sustainability frameworks, and emerging trends.

Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough research on sustainability issues, trends, and regulations.
  • Analyze environmental, social, and economic data to identify opportunities for improvement.

Strategy Development:

  • Assist in developing sustainability strategies and action plans tailored to client needs.
  • Support the integration of sustainability into business processes and decision-making.

Sustainability Reporting:

  • Support the client in providing recommendations in prepar ing sustainability reports in accordance with IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, GRI S tandards , SASB, TCFD Recommendations , and other relevant standards.
  • Assists the client in c ollect ing , validat ing , and analyz ing data for reporting purposes.

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project alignment and success.

Training and Capacity Building:

  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance clients' understanding of sustainability principles and practices.
  • Create tools and resources to support clients in their sustainability efforts.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage with key stakeholders, including employees, customers, suppliers, and community members, to gather insights and build support for sustainability initiatives.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and events to promote sustainability awareness and collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field.

  • Understanding of sustainability frameworks and standards (e.g., IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, GRI Standards , SASB, TCFD Recommendations , CDP).

  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau , Power Point ).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
