About This Job:
The client is an established international group and is a Floor Covering Manufacturer for residential and commercial building in Malaysia. They are looking for a Sales Manager to manage their business in Malaysia and eventually in the Asian region. The position is a hybrid role and candidates has the option to work from home or at their office/factory at Hulu Langat, Selangor
This role reports to the Sales & Marketing Director based in Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a solid understanding and report on the market and the main players including industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform strategic decisions (understand competitor products, sales and marketing strategies, strengths and weaknesses)
- Conduct regular market assessments to identify areas for growth.
- Create accurate sales forecasts that guide strategic planning and resource allocation.
- Agree with senior management a Company Sales Budget for the Malaysian market
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies and plans to meet and exceed Company Sales Budget targets.
- Identify and explore new market opportunities and potential client segments.
- Monitor sales metrics, analyse and report performance data against the Company Sales Budget to evaluate effectiveness and propose adjustments as needed.
- Utilize analytics to inform decision-making, optimize processes, and identify new avenues for revenue generation.
- Develop and maintain a suitable CRM system to present to senior management, providing insights, forecasts, and recommendations for sales improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders to foster loyalty and repeat business (work closely and pro-actively with the Principal owners/senior managers of distributor partner companies to ensure effective partnership relationships)
- Develop and provide effective leadership to the distributor’s sales teams in order to assist them in achieving theirs and the Company’s objectives.
- Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate with marketing, product development, and customer service teams to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with senior management about sales performance and strategies.
- To act as a role model by demonstrating flexibility, open communication, respect for others, continuous improvement and excellent customer service.
Requirements
- 5 - 10 years of professional sales experience within the tiles manufacturing or building materials industry.
- Degree in Sales, Marketing or equivalent qualification
- Proven track record in sales, business development, and account management, with the ability to drive profitable growth in the targeted industries.
- Capacity to develop and implement strategic sales plans for business development, considering market dynamics and industry trends.
- Strong networking skills to foster relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Ability to identify customer challenges and devise effective solutions
- Strong influencing skills to guide and motivate the team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English
