Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK) has been serving marginalized communities in Malaysia for over 16 years; these include the homeless, urban poor and Orang Asli populations. In recent years we have strategically expanded our focus upstream of the poverty curve to reach the urban poor via our Food Bank and Empowerment Programs. These programs aim to provide assistance to the most vulnerable segments of our community before they fall into complete poverty and hardship

Description

In the non-profit sector, this role is essential for driving the organization's mission forward. This dynamic position combines strategic marketing expertise with the art of cultivating meaningful relationships and securing crucial funding

As a Marketing and Fundraising specialist at KSK, you'll be responsible to craft impactful campaigns to raise awareness, engage stakeholders, and inspire action. A key focus is on identifying, cultivating, and securing financial support from donors and sponsors

Collaboration is at the heart of this role, as you'll work closely with cross-functional teams at KSK to ensure a cohesive & strategic approach. Your data driven insights & creative problem solving will be instrumental in driving the organization's growth & sustainability

Key Duties

1. Prospecting and Recruitment:

  • Proactively prospect, pitch & recruit new corporate sponsors to support KSK's CSR activities and campaigns
  • KPI: Secure at least 3 new successful corporate CSR sponsorships per month

2. Sponsor Engagement:

  • Manage and nurture relationships with current KSK corporate sponsors, including promoting campaigns and initiatives to engage them
  • KPI: Secure at least 3 existing corporate sponsors for each major KSK campaign

3. Marketing and Fundraising Strategy and Execution:

  • Develop innovative marketing ideas and strategies to drive successful fundraising efforts
  • Create compelling sponsorship collateral, proposals and promotional materials
  • Contribute to the overall fundraising strategy and goal-setting for the organization

4. Donor Stewardship:

  • Ensure timely update and acknowledgement of donation status to corporate sponsors within 14 days of completing a donation
  • Provide regular updates on sponsorship impact & activities
  • Foster positive relationships with corporate partners through regular communication, events, and greeting messages

5. Database and Project Management:

  • Maintain and update corporate sponsor database using KSK CRM systems on a weekly basis, tracking sponsorship details, donation history, and communication touchpoints

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
  • Min of 2 years' relevant experience in marketing, fundraising or development, within the non-profit sector is an advantage
  • Experience in event planning and execution for fundraising activities
  • Familiarity with project management principles and tools
  • Proven track record of successfully securing corporate sponsorships & individual donations is an advantage.
  • Certification in fundraising, marketing or non-profit management

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling marketing and fundraising materials
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Familiarity with CRM software and donor database management
  • Analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to measure campaign performance
  • Good project management and time management skills
  • Passion for the non-profit's mission and drive to make a positive social impact
