Job Summary: The Facility Engineer will be integral in maintaining and optimizing the infrastructure of our facilities, ensuring all systems operate efficiently. This role involves overseeing building systems, managing maintenance schedules, and implementing improvements to support operational and production needs. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in facility management and engineering principles, with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Facility Management: Oversee the maintenance, repair, and enhancement of facility infrastructure, including HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, structural components, and building maintenance such as drainage, water supply, civil works and sewerage works. • Preventive and Emergent Maintenance: Plan and carry out preventive maintenance and emergent repairs for facility systems, including HVAC (air conditioning, heating, refrigeration), building exhaust fans, ventilation units, biosafety cabinets, pass boxes, laminar airflow units (LAF), fume hoods, and other air conditioning-related equipment. • Preventive Maintenance Programs: Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of facility equipment and systems. • Troubleshooting and Repairs: Quickly identify and resolve facility operation issues, coordinating with internal teams or external contractors as needed. • Compliance and Safety: Ensure that facility operations comply with local regulations, safety codes, and environmental standards. Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and compliance checks for building automation systems (BAS), building management systems (BMS), and control systems. Assist with periodic reviews and documentation to align with site Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS). • Regulations and Licensing: Assist with all authority-related audits, annual inspections, and statutory license renewals (e.g., DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, SPKA, KPDNKK). Ensure timely renewal of system application licenses. • Project Management: Oversee facility-related projects, including upgrades, renovations, and new installations. Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets. • Energy Management: Monitor and optimize energy usage to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs. Implement energy-saving initiatives and technologies. • Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to ensure high-quality service and adherence to contract terms. • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and facility performance. Prepare and present regular reports to management. • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including production, IT, and logistics, to address facility-related needs and support operational goals. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facility Management, or a related field. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in facility management or engineering, preferably within a manufacturing or technology environment. • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. • Familiarity with Malaysian safety regulations and compliance requirements. • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure. • Strong project management skills with the capability to handle multiple tasks and priorities. • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams and external partners. • Proficiency in facility management software and tools is advantageous.
