We are looking for a strategic and proactive Procurement SAP Specialist for our newly established heavy machinery assembly factory in Seremban - Sendayan Techvalley for the underground load & haul equipment.
About the Division
The Load & Haul Division, the home of Sandvik loaders and trucks for underground mining business. Here we are safer, stronger, and smarter, as we like to say it. We have been the market leader by accelerating diesel and battery-electric equipment development, with sharpened priorities. We work in close co-operation with the sales areas within the Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions Business Area, to provide the best possible service to our customers. Load & Haul home base is located in Turku, Finland. Additionally, we have operations in Camarillo, USA and Changzhou, China as well in Seremban, Malaysia.

In this position you are primarily responsible to provide digital and core solutions related to procurement; purchasing, sourcing, negotiating, planning to fulfill the operation requirements. Main objectives of the role, to be an advisor, consultant, problem-solver, solution provider, system developer related to procurement process by having deep understanding, cross functional relationship, digital transformation, strategic overview, and regional/global exposure.
- Further develop and control strategy for total procurement process, by ensuring organized purchasing, better networking capital, production, financing, & overall factory performance
- Develop comprehensive tools & framework supported by global structure, implementing methodologies, knowledge databases, industry leading software, expert network, & benchmarks
- Utilize functional & technical expertise in SAP, by analyzing, designing, and implementing business processes related to procurement
- Understand the traditional driven complex procurement processes, and react towards a future-proof digital, data driven and automated process
- Strong business & operational understanding of procurement processes, ie; contracts, request for quotation, scheduling arrangements, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, inbound delivery, good receipts, and intercompany processes aligned with SAP
- Responsible for designing and implementing prototypes in projects using new technologies such as S4/Hana, ARIBA, Fiori, API, ASAPIO, CPI and in a distributed system landscape
- Co-develop supplier relationships – via Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) best practices throughout negotiation, contracting, opportunity & renewal
- Analyzing procurement data – collecting & interpreting sourcing data including cost analysis reporting, benchmarking expenditures, and return on investment
- Build & leverage internal business relationships to enhance value-focused strategies
- Proactively, seeking business optimization and cost savings or new capability and developing data-driven business cases to support their initiatives
- Staying current on industry and market trends and best practices
- Compliance with instructions and organizational practices at work
- Taking EHS and Quality requirements into account at work
- Ensure Sandvik Way of Working procedures are in place and always adhered to
- Battery technology background considered an advantage
Your background and what we find important
This role would be ideal for someone looking to further develop & motivated for new challenges to enhance expertise in the procurement – purchasing & sourcing area. As a person you have excellent communication and customer relationship skills, strategic, resourceful and deliver as required, fluent English speaking with a minimum 10 years’ experience in heavy machineries assembly / manufacturing environment or equivalent, familiar with LMW / Bonded Warehouse setup, extensive experience with SAP S/4 Hana & Ariba system utilization related to procurement function, expert of regional supply base, suitable degree or education certificate from technical & vocational institutions.
