Sports Direct Malaysia is currently looking for Data Analytics Manager to join our growing team.

Malaysia marks the first direct retail investment in Asia through a joint venture partnership with Malaysian owned MST Golf Group of companies, a well-established golf retailer and service provider in the region. Sports Direct Malaysia currently operates a total of 34 retail stores domestically and manages a proprietary SportsDirect.com e-commerce site for domestic and regional fulfillment. Job Description


Your responsibilities as Data Analytics Manager will include but not limited to:

  • Lead and manage comprehensive data projects, addressing business issues by gathering insights from various sources, analysing data, identifying trends, building models, and providing actionable recommendations through automated reports.
  • Regularly review commercial data to pinpoint areas for enhancement and provide targeted recommendations backed by in-depth analysis.
  • Employ statistical and analytical methods to interpret large datasets, drawing key conclusions and uncovering patterns, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop, automate, and validate new reports, implementing corrective measures to enhance data accuracy and reliability.
  • Deliver consistent reporting and analysis to senior management to support strategic business decisions.
  • Guide and mentor junior BI team members, promoting best practices and supporting their professional growth.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in business intelligence, ensuring the team adopts best-in-class tools and methodologies.
  • Ensure data quality and accuracy across all business intelligence solutions.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with internal stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of business needs, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to end-users on BI tools and solutions.
  • Respond to ad-hoc data requests and analysis, offering insights and recommendations for further actions.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting initiatives by providing accurate data insights.
  • Any other assignments as directed by immediate superior as and when required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science).
  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis, ideally within a commercial or business-oriented role, preferably in FMCG environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to data accuracy and quality.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, including SQL, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • High level of integrity and a solid work ethic.
  • 5+ years of experience in a business analysis or finance role.
