Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Curriculum Delivery:

  • Deliver lectures, practical classes, and tutorials on topics related to medical imaging, including X-ray, MRI, CT, ultrasound, and other diagnostic imaging technologies.
  • Develop and update course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments, in alignment with the latest advancements in medical imaging and accreditation standards.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on training, to engage students and ensure effective learning.
  • Provide academic support to students during office hours, answering questions, and guiding them in their studies.

Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Design and implement formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress and understanding of course content.
  • Grade assignments, exams, and practical assessments fairly and consistently, providing constructive feedback to help students improve.
  • Track and report on student performance, identifying areas where students may need additional support or intervention.

Academic and Professional Development:

  • Stay current with developments in the field of medical imaging, including new technologies, techniques, and industry trends.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development through workshops, conferences, and certifications to maintain knowledge of best practices in both teaching and medical imaging.
  • Contribute to the research and development of new teaching methods, including the use of simulation, virtual learning environments, and other educational technologies.

Student Support and Mentoring:

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to students, offering career advice and support with their academic development.
  • Monitor student progress and provide recommendations for improvement or further study.
  • Encourage students to engage in research projects or internships to enhance their learning and professional experience.

Collaboration with Industry:

  • Foster partnerships with healthcare providers, imaging centers, and medical institutions to provide students with exposure to real-world medical imaging applications.
  • Organize guest lectures, internships, or field visits that give students direct insight into the professional practice of medical imaging.

Research and Scholarly Activities:

  • Conduct research in the field of medical imaging, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and innovation in the field.
  • Publish research findings in academic journals, conferences, or other professional forums.
  • Support and encourage students to participate in research projects related to medical imaging.

Administrative Duties:

  • Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum reviews, and accreditation processes.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the academic programs, ensuring they align with current industry standards and educational best practices.
  • Assist in the recruitment, orientation, and mentoring of new faculty members.

Compliance and Standards:

  • Ensure that all teaching activities comply with the university’s policies, educational standards, and accreditation requirements.
  • Uphold academic integrity and promote a positive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A Master’s degree or higher in Medical Imaging, Radiologic Science, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in medical imaging (e.g., ARRT, MRT, or equivalent), or equivalent qualifications.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Medical Imaging Technologist or similar role, with significant experience in using imaging technology.
  • Previous teaching or training experience in a higher education setting is preferred.
  • Research experience in the field of medical imaging or healthcare technology is an advantage.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of medical imaging techniques, technologies, and equipment.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to students of varying levels of understanding.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in educational technologies, such as learning management systems (LMS), simulation software, and multimedia tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and industry professionals.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
