KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Record Keeping

  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Support the Account Executive in ensuring all financial transactions comply with local regulations and company policies.

Accounts Payable and Receivable

  • Help process supplier invoices and assist in managing payment schedules for timely payments to vendors.
  • Monitor and assist in accounts receivable activities, issuing invoices, and following up on outstanding payments.
  • Reconcile invoices and receipts with bank records, reporting discrepancies to the Account Executive.

General Ledger and Month-End Closures

  • Assist in posting month-end journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Support the Finance team during the monthly and year-end closing processes by preparing trial balances and adjusting entries.
  • Assist in the reconciliation of bank statements and other balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.

Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Assist in preparing financial statements and ensuring their accuracy.
  • Provide support in generating reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Help analyze financial data and contribute to budget forecasting efforts.

Taxation and Statutory Compliance

  • Assist in the preparation and timely submission of tax returns and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Support the Account Executive in liaising with auditors and tax advisors during audits and tax filings.
  • Stay informed about updates to tax laws and accounting standards.

Audit and Internal Controls

  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing supporting documentation as requested.
  • Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and company policies.

Support for Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Provide financial data and support the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Help identify cost-saving opportunities and provide assistance during budget reviews.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: SPM, STPM, a diploma, or any equivalent qualification in a related field.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience in accounting or finance-related roles.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in accounting software (such as Auto Count Accounting) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
    • Strong attention to detail with good organizational and multitasking skills.
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications like ACCA, CPA, or CIMA are a plus but not mandatory.
  • Language: Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
