Job Summary:
This position involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting day-to-day financial operations. The Account Assistant reports to the HEAD OF FINANCE and collaborates with other team members to ensure the smooth functioning of the finance department.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping:
- Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, accounts payable and receivable, and other financial documentation.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Transaction Processing:
- Process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial transactions promptly and accurately.
- Verify and reconcile discrepancies in financial documents.
Bank Reconciliation:
- Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts regularly to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Expense Tracking:
- Monitor and track expenses, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines.
- Prepare expense reports and assist in expense management.
Data Entry and Coding:
- Accurately enter financial data into accounting software.
- Code and categorize financial transactions appropriately.
Assist in Month-end Closing:
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Prepare and organize financial reports as required.
Communication and Coordination:
- Collaborate with other departments to obtain necessary financial information.
- Communicate with vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders regarding financial matters.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and relevant regulations.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial documentation.
Support Audits:
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing relevant documentation and information.
Ad Hoc Tasks:
- Undertake special projects or tasks as assigned by the Manager.
Requirements:
- Min a Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 3 years and above of working experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in UBS accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
