Who will you be working for:
Our client is a global Canadian MNC and their presence and operations in Asia is growing at a rapid rate. The Company seeks to recruit a strong leader to head their Penang Operations based in Bukit Mertajam.
What you will be doing:
Reporting to the GM and part of the executive leadership team, the Plant Manager will be responsible for providing executive leadership and management of the company’s manufacturing operations, fulfillment, logistics/distribution, customer service, and quality control. The Plant Manager must be a hands-on executive who will drive the Company’s efforts to provide world class customer service as the company achieves its revenue and goals.
1. Strategically formulate the role of operations in the organization and enhance the operational efficiency.
2. Active role in setting annual operating plan budget and manage operations cost to budget
3. Lead key, customer-facing functions in the Company’s Asia operations, predominantly but not exclusively in Malaysia, China, and SEA.
4. Provide day-to-day leadership to the manufacturing operations teams in Penang that reflect the mission and core values of the company.
5. Direct members of their team to ensure that they carry out all manufacturing and fulfillment activities, on time in accordance with customer specifications.
7. Act as a safety leader to ensure compliance to and/or with All Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, practices and regulations.
8. Work with the COO to set objectives for Continuous Improvement and Customer Service.
9. Execute strategies and activities to manage inventory controls and scheduling.
10. Implement initiatives that enable operational excellence via Lean and Six Sigma practices.
11. Implement operational best practices across all Asian operations sites and standardize processes and procedures around these best practices
12. Develop individuals and groups in a way that encourages and achieves skill expansion as well as breadth and depth of knowledge.
13. Implements clear operational metrics combined with action plans for achieving these metrics, and holds team accountable to their implementation and achievement.
14. Establishes operations standards for cost control, continuous quality and productivity improvement, and “on-time/every time, right out of the box” delivery.
What you will need to succeed:
Competencies
The ideal candidate for the Operations Manager will bring strong leadership experience gained in the manufacturing industry. He/she will have a demonstrated ability of creating win-win solutions for customers and internal partners. Prior experience should include leadership of operations, logistics, fulfillment and customer service in addition to exposure to strong P&L leadership activities.
1. A hands-on leader willing to roll up their sleeves and do whatever is necessary to ensure the Company’s success.
2. Ability to create a results driven, team oriented environment.
3. Excellent managerial skills. Demonstrated experience managing multiple team projects in a deadline driven environment.
4. Lean / Six Sigma certification or program implementation.
5. Excellent organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
6. Strong written and oral communication skills. Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to formulate recommendations regarding challenges, methods and solutions. Ability to communicate clearly in both positive and negative situations.
7. Attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Minimum 10 years’ experience leading and building operations in a related environment.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or operations or equivalent is required.
At least 10 years work experience in managing a Small Medium Enterprise in both administrative and operational plant management is required.
Experience with implementation of corrective action programs.

Pay: RM9,000.00 - RM19,000.00 per month
