Job Description
Reporting to the Market Access Head, the candidate will be responsible for the country’s market access Strategic Plan and country’s pricing policy and procedure. A thorough understanding of the pharmaceutical market environment, country policies, changes in regulatory requirements, pricing change due to political/economic development and others will allow the job holder to craft the MA strategy for the affiliate. Engaging with key external and internal stakeholders, the candidate is required to provide input towards the sales and marketing planning process.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Pricing
- Monitor and maximize pricing opportunities in trade and distribution channels
- Generate competitive pricing analysis.
- Ensure pricing is up-to-date on GPMS.
- Prepare pricing proposal for formulary listing (with or without tender) to private and government sectors [Ministry of Health (MOH) , Ministry of Education (MOE), Ministry of Defense(MOD)]
- Visit private payers to maximize opportunity on price increase, mitigate risk of price erosion.
- Implement price change strategies in cooperation with sales and marketing to increase overall productivity
- Provide customer programs to support the sales force maximizing pricing opportunities
Tender
- Monitor and manage tender renewal of existing business
- Provides oversight on RFP process and drives contract compliance through sales team
- Seek opportunity to increase number of products to be listed in the tender.
- Support tender specifications which increase quality and compliance
Horizon Scan
- Monitor external environment on changes and development relating to:
- Policies – including formulary listing, tender.
- Regulatory.
- Pricing.
- Coverage.
- Competitors.
And disseminate its insights to key stakeholder on the business implications, as well as proposals of action plans.
Develop country Market Access Plan, including
- Customers: mapping, define/ optimize coverage, ensure quality access including seeking opportunity in non-tradition market segment.
- Engage, visit external customers including authorities.
- Forward-looking opportunity and risk assessment.
- Work with sales and marketing team, support business expansion to private hospitals, MOH/MOE/MOD, preparing dossier for formulary listing.
- HTA (Health Technology Assessment) Agencies.
- Build and lead local external engagement.
- Represent EPD at local industry association; proactively drive off-patent policies.
- Initiate key initiatives such as health economic studies.
- Seek opportunity for products in tender (renewal, pricing), insurance agencies.
Knowledge & Experience:
- 5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical/FMCG, related industry or payer organization
- Possess good influencing skill working through affiliate team.
- In-depth knowledge about the country’s healthcare system and MA decision making.
- Strong local customer network (Market Access decision makers and influencers)
- Good financial understanding
- Winning mentality, dynamic, innovative, customer focus and cross-functional team player
Minimum Qualification:
University degree. Additional education in Public Health, or Medicines or Pharmacy or Health Economics is a plus
