Job Summary:
The Process Drafter is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and diagrams for process systems, equipment layouts, and flow diagrams. This role supports engineering teams by translating conceptual designs into accurate, comprehensive schematics used in manufacturing, construction, and operational processes. The Process Drafter ensures all designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with engineers and process teams to develop and modify technical drawings, including process flow diagrams (PFD), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), equipment layouts, and other technical schematics.
- Create and maintain detailed drafts, specifications, and documents for process designs.
- Ensure that all drafted designs adhere to company standards, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Revise and update drawings as necessary based on changes in processes or design adjustments.
- Coordinate with project managers and engineering teams to ensure alignment with project timelines and specifications.
- Review technical documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain a library of drawing files and documentation for easy access and retrieval.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and other documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the fabrication, installation, and operational teams by providing accurate drawings and technical information as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or technical certification in drafting, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in process drafting, technical drawing, or a similar role, with familiarity in process design or engineering environments.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) and other relevant drafting tools.
- Knowledge of engineering principles, drafting standards, and industry regulations (e.g., ASME, ANSI).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to review designs for accuracy.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with process flow design or process engineering.
- Familiarity with industrial systems, piping, and instrumentation.
- Ability to understand and interpret engineering designs, technical specifications, and blueprints.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Internship
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: RM1,421.37 - RM6,263.74 per month
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- On call
