About the Role

Support and assist on all legal and compliance matters in relation to the Company businesses, work closely with various business units and internal stakeholders to protect the Company's interests.

What you'll be doing

• Assist and support immediate superior in all legal matters including conveyance, corporate, commercial, intellectual property, dispute resolution and corporate governance related matters for the Group as well as its subsidiaries
• Draft and review agreements related to mergers/acquisition, joint ventures, property management, and other legal documents
• Act as an advisor to provide legal opinion based on business needs and Group’s interest and in accordance with the Group’s policies and procedures, applicable laws
• Provide legal support on the business activities of the Group as well as its subsidiaries
• Ensure proper management and administration of legal documents.
• Conduct necessary legal research to keep abreast of applicable laws and regulations
• Assisting in organizing and tracking compliance programs for the company, including developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure legal and ESG compliance and alignment with best practices
• Support immediate superior in liaising with external lawyer and other external parties on all legal matters
• Attend to assigned projects from time to time

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent; admitted to the Malaysian Bar
• Min. 2 years of working experience in legal firms or in-house counsel
• Strong understanding of corporate governance, ESG, and compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks (experience in these areas will be an advantage)
• Ability to present credible legal solutions to internal stakeholders of diverse backgrounds, with the use of strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to review and advise on intellectual property issues for the supported business and matters
• Ability to perform legal research and support to ensure compliance and optimise efficiencies in the business operations
• Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, external counsels and advisors
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Commitment to upholding ethical standards and ensuring compliance with legal requirements
• Possess initiative, positive attitude and able to work independently
