Operations Manager / Factory Manager

Our Client is a leading manufacturer in the Building Material industry, dedicated to delivering high-quality products through innovative production processes and a commitment to continuous improvement.

They are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager / Factory Manager to oversee and optimize our production processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, proven leadership skills, and experience in the heavy industry sector, particularly in steel, metal, or aluminum manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Management: Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure products are produced on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall operational performance.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to establish and enforce quality standards, ensuring all products meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Ensure all machinery and equipment are maintained in optimal condition, coordinating regular maintenance schedules and prompt repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Engineering Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering department to facilitate process improvements, equipment upgrades, and the integration of new technologies.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of production staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Resource Management: Manage allocation of raw materials, labor, and equipment to meet production targets efficiently.
  • Budgeting and Reporting: Prepare and manage operational budgets, monitor expenses, and generate regular reports on production performance and operational metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a managerial role within the heavy industry sector, preferably in steel, metal, or aluminum manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, machinery, and industry-specific technologies.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for identifying operational inefficiencies and implementing effective solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to the manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics to drive informed decision-making.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
