Overview:
The Warehouse Officer will be responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations within a chemical warehouse environment, ensuring the safe handling, storage, and dispatch of materials. This role requires strict adherence to regulatory compliance, accurate record-keeping, and effective inventory management. The Warehouse Officer will also maintain efficient use of space, implement safety protocols, and support the continuous improvement of warehouse practices to optimize performance and minimize risks.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Warehouse Operations Management
- Oversee the daily operations of chemical storage, including receipt, storage, retrieval, and dispatch of hazardous materials.
- Ensure accurate stock management and control, including timely data entry into warehouse management systems (e.g., ERP, SAP).
2. Regulatory Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements and safety protocols (e.g., OSHA, DOSH) to manage hazardous materials and schedule waste.
- Conduct safety inspections, maintain compliance documentation, and perform regular audits of warehouse practices.
- Analyze and utilize Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.
3. Equipment Operation & Maintenance
- Operate and maintain warehouse equipment, including forklifts, ensuring all equipment is used safely and effectively.
- Conduct regular equipment checks and coordinate maintenance schedules to prevent operational delays.
4. Inventory Management
- Maintain an accurate record of inventory levels, tracking incoming and outgoing materials
- Develop and implement procedures for inventory management, including FIFO and temperature-controlled storage as needed.
- Facilitate inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure data accuracy and inventory integrity
5. Documentation and Record-Keeping
- Maintain organized records to support audits, regulatory reporting, and operational tracking.
6. Problem-Solving & Process Improvement
- Identify and resolve issues related to logistics and inventory management challenges.
- Continuously assess warehouse processes to improve efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry standards.
7. Training and Supervision
- Provide training to warehouse staff (contract staff) on safe handling, storage, and emergency response for chemical materials.
- Supervise and guide team members, ensuring all activities align with operational and safety standards.
8. Security and Access Control
- Implement and maintain access control measures to prevent unauthorized access to catalyst and all area.
- Ensure that security protocols are followed to protect warehouse assets and personnel
Job Requirements:
- Diploma in Warehouse Management, Logistics, or related field; certifications in Hazardous Material Handling or Safety Management preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in warehouse operations, ideally in a chemical or hazardous materials environment.
- Must be able to drive Forklift.
- Proficiency in warehouse management software (e.g., ERP, SAP).
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., OSHA, DOSH).
- Ability to interpret and apply Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for hazardous materials.
- Familiarity with handling hazardous materials, including storage, inventory management, and transport preparation.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Experience in problem-solving and implementing best practices for inventory control.
- Previous experience working in a bonded warehouse is an advantage
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
