Job Overview
Mantissa College is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Lecturer & Academic Administrator to teach and manage the Cambridge Lingua Skill English Certificate Program. This position requires a professional who can deliver high-quality teaching while demonstrating strong organizational and administrative skills. Preference will be given to candidates with experience at the British Council or those who have previously taught Cambridge English courses.
Key Responsibilities1. Teaching & Learning
- Course Delivery: Deliver dynamic and interactive lessons for students enrolled in the Cambridge Lingua Skill English Certificate program.
- Lesson Planning: Develop teaching plans, learning materials, and assessment content based on the course syllabus and learning objectives.
- Student Support: Guide and support students in improving their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
- Assessment & Feedback: Design and administer assignments, quizzes, and exams. Grade assessments and provide timely feedback to students.
2. Academic Administration
- Course Coordination: Coordinate academic activities, course schedules, and timetables for the Cambridge Lingua Skill English Certificate program.
- Student Records: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and learning progress.
- Administrative Duties: Support administrative functions such as student registration, exam scheduling, and preparation of course materials.
- Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with academic regulations, quality assurance, and accreditation standards.
3. Student Engagement & Support
- Student Guidance: Act as the main academic advisor for students, offering learning support and guidance as needed.
- Orientation Support: Participate in student orientation and onboarding, helping new students become familiar with the Cambridge Lingua Skill English program.
4. Continuous Improvement
- Course Evaluation: Collaborate with the academic team to evaluate and improve course outlines, teaching materials, and assessment methods.
- Professional Development: Stay up to date with modern teaching methodologies, trends in English language instruction, and best practices for academic administration.
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in English, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Work Experience
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in English as a Second Language (ESL) or English for Academic Purposes (EAP).
- Preference: Candidates who have previously taught Cambridge English courses or have worked with the British Council will be given priority.
- Experience in academic administration or a related administrative role is a plus.
Skills & Abilities
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English, with the ability to teach grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and communication skills.
- Teaching Skills: Ability to create engaging lesson plans, stimulate student interest, and foster a positive learning environment.
- Administrative Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage student records and reports accurately.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with educational tools, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, and management.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to efficiently resolve academic and administrative issues.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
Expected Start Date: 02/01/2025
