Job Description
The role of Direct Tax Lead SG, MY & CN is responsible for corporate income tax related matters – direct taxes including transfer pricing of legal entities based in Singapore, Malaysia and China. The primary goal is to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting and tax compliance for all entities in scope.
Responsibilities:
- Act in compliance with JDE Peet’s Tax Strategy and Tax Policies.
- Preparation and ensuring timely filing of corporate income tax returns, withholding tax returns, and other tax compliance obligations (e.g., Principal Hub, Pillar 2 and CbCR related) for legal entities based in Singapore, Malaysia and China, with support from external stakeholders as appropriate.
- Ensure proper transfer pricing documentations are prepared in accordance with the Transfer Pricing Guidelines for all legal entities (where applicable) based in Singapore, Malaysia and China, with support from external stakeholders as appropriate.
- Reviewing and ensuring timely submission of tax accounting/ deferred tax calculations and provisions for legal entities based in Singapore, Malaysia and China.
- Provide tax advice and support to internal stakeholders (e.g., business, finance and legal) on various tax matters, such as cross-border transactions, transfer pricing, restructurings, tax incentives and tax treaties, including the review and draft (Intercompany) of agreements from a corporate income tax (including transfer pricing) perspective.
- Monitor and analyze tax developments and changes in tax laws and regulations in Singapore, Malaysia and China and assess the impact & implications for the business.
- Take charge of improvements to local tax-related practices and procedures.
- Responsible for ad-hoc projects such as e-Invoicing, IT and ERP configurations/ updates/ automation on matters relating to tax.
- Liaising with local tax authorities and government agencies.
- Manage and prepare reply for tax audits, tax inquiries, and tax controversies with tax authorities in Singapore, Malaysia and China and seek external tax advice as needed.

Here's what we're looking for:
- Academic Program: You are enrolled in Bachelor’s degree in accounting/Finance.
- Experienced: Minimum 5 years’ experience in tax/ tax related roles, experience in a big 4 audit firm is an added advantage
- Skillset: You possess strong understanding knowledge of tax and transfer pricing regulations.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience in using SAP will be an added advantage.
- Personal traits: You have a structured approach, a driven and energetic personality, excellent communication in Mandarin & English and people skills, and the ability to work both in a team and independently.
