Job Responsibilities:
- Route cargo in accordance withlegal and customer requirements.
- Coordinate the routing processincluding:
- using contract rates and least cost whenever possible
- obtaining spot quotes for lanes or loads that aren’tcontracted
- selecting carrier and tendering cargo in accordance withthe process
- providingcarrier, shipper, broker, consignee all pertinent docs and information as required
- Research and subject matter expertisein the field of logisticsand transportation
- Actively use either Allyn’s ALA software or use the software chosen per the client
- Accurately issue shipping documentation such as certificates of origin, customs invoices, packing lists, and certificates of insurance
- Communication with freight forwarders, shippers, consignees, clients and internal communication within the team
- Transport regulations compliance management, including permitting, over dimensional and hazardous cargo
- Maintain online tracking and metrics tools
- Monitoring and tracking the shipments and keeping client informed about status
- Following the client’s priorities, optimizing solutions
- Capture all costs associated with a shipment
- Capture savings opportunities
- Participate in team meetings, conference calls and project management calls with Allyn team and with the client
- Track and resolve freight claims
- Provide high levelcustomer service to Allyn customers
- Any additional tasks related to Scope of Work agreed with the client
- Perform Allyn core values, actively promote team work and represent Allyn according to company culture
- Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- English and other business specific language if needed
- Ability to work on own initiative, multitask and prioritize workload effectively
