Craft Origin Specialty Coffee Brewer is wholly owned by Janair Innovation Sdn. Bhd. founded in April 2017. Craft represents our appreciation towards craftsmanship of every single individual, in a deeper meaning, towards artisanal coffee. Origin refers to our principle in upholding the +originality of every element that we include in operating our cafe. We are a coffee roastery based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, specialising in roasting specialty coffee. We believe quality coffee comes a long way starting from the source, the farm. We strategically positioned to meet an increasing demand for specialty coffee throughout Malaysia and the regions.
Duties:
•Lead a team of Roasters, Apprentices, and Green Coffee Handlers to perform at a high level, delivering on Craft Origin promise of quality.
•Coordinate roasting and green coffee handling to help fulfill daily orders and support team members.
•Attend to people-management needs such as development and training of staff, creating a positive work environment founded in respect for one another to support their personal and professional growth.
•Conduct routine quality assurance and other sensory exercises for staff participation.
•Set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with the company's plans and vision.
•Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks.
•Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
•Proactively communicate observations and action plans for continuous improvement to the Company Director.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor degree in any field
- Must hold the certification from accredited coffee association ie SCA
* Must love coffee.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly when sharing tasting notes and stories about the farmers producing the coffee that roaster-retailers can relate to/find appealing.
* Strong knowledge of green coffee buying as well as sophisticated knowledge of the green coffee evaluation and purchasing processes.
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) and web browser software
* Fluency in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
