Key Responsibilities: 1. Automation System Design and Development: o Design and develop automation solutions for complex manufacturing processes, including equipment, robots, control systems, and software. o Collaborate with production teams to understand specific needs and tailor automation systems accordingly. o Perform system feasibility studies, evaluations, and cost analyses to recommend optimal automation solutions. 2. Collaboration and Technical Support: o Provide technical support to manufacturing teams for the troubleshooting and maintenance of automated systems. o Collaborate with other engineering teams to improve automation processes and drive innovation. o Train local engineers and staff on automation systems, software tools, and best practices. 6. Process Improvement and Optimization: o Continuously monitor system performance and implement adjustments to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance product quality. o Identify opportunities for automation in current processes and propose solutions that improve production speed, quality, and safety. 7. Project Management: o Lead and manage automation projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards. o Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and vendors to ensure that equipment and materials are procured and delivered as needed. o Manage project budgets and timelines, ensuring resources are allocated effectively. 8. Compliance and Documentation: o Ensure that all automation systems comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements. o Maintain detailed documentation on system designs, processes, and modifications for internal and regulatory review. 9. Training and Support: o Provide training to local teams and operators on the operation and maintenance of automation systems. o Offer technical support and troubleshooting assistance to production staff as needed. Key Requirements 1. Education and Experience: o Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. o Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in automation engineering, with a strong background in data analysis, robotics, and software development. Proven experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing automation systems in a manufacturing or industrial setting (preferably in the EMS or electronics industry). Hands-on experience with industrial automation, including PLCs, SCADA systems, and robotics (robot arms, AGVs, collaborative robots). Prior experience with data analytics and using big data tools to optimize production systems and prevent downtime. Previous expatriate or international project experience is highly preferred. 2. Skills and Competencies: o Technical Skills: Strong programming skills in languages like Python, C++, Java, and others relevant for automation and control systems. Expertise in PLC programming, HMI, SCADA systems, and industrial automation platforms (Siemens, Rockwell, ABB). Experience with robotics technologies, including integration of AI/ML for robotic path planning and process optimization. Proficient in using data analytics tools and methodologies (e.g., Python libraries, statistical software, machine learning techniques) to improve system performance. Solid understanding of control systems, automation architecture, and system integration in manufacturing environments. o Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and system optimization. Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Leadership and mentoring capabilities to guide and support local engineering teams. Adaptability and cultural awareness for working in international and diverse environments. 3.
