The company is now looking at expanding the team to cope for the business expansion. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain our databases, ensuring their performance, availability, and security. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of database management systems and have a proven track record of managing large-scale databases in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities: Database Management: Design, implement, and maintain database systems to ensure high availability and performance. Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related products. Monitor and optimize database performance, including tuning queries, indexing, and storage. Data Security and Backup: Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures to protect data integrity and confidentiality. Develop and manage database backup and recovery strategies. Perform regular security assessments and audits to ensure database integrity and security. Ethically handling private data, including financial, personal, transactional data. Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve database-related issues. Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database solutions that meet application requirements. Diagnose and resolve database performance issues, including analyzing system logs and identifying potential problems. Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine database tasks, such as backups, monitoring, and maintenance. Implement automation tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and policies. Generate and analyze reports on database performance, usage, and trends. Provide recommendations for database improvements and capacity planning. Leadership and Mentoring: Mentor and provide guidance to junior database administrators and other technical staff. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure best practices are applied. Requirements: Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Science & Technology or equivalent. Experience with Windows operating systems. Proficient in RDBMS, especially MSSQL server and MySQL Experience with non-RDBMS is an added advantage Ability to meet customer and user expectations. Excellent communication in English.
