Job Summary: The A1 Chargeman is responsible for the maintenance and operation of low voltage electrical systems. This role ensures that all electrical systems are functioning efficiently and safely, and complies with all relevant regulations and standards set by the Energy Commission. Key Responsibilities: 1. Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on low voltage electrical systems and associated equipment. 2. Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve electrical issues to meet operational requirements. 3. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of electrical systems to ensure optimal performance. 4. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. 5. Prepare and manage electrical spare parts to ensure availability for maintenance needs. 6. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and electrical system performance. 7. Provide technical support and guidance to junior electricians and maintenance staff. 8. Collaborate with other departments to support overall operational goals. 9. Participate in emergency response activities as defined by the company's emergency response plan. 10. Handle aerial line maintenance, including types of poles, construction of stay wires, types of cables, current carrying capacity, installation of lines, tensioning, sagging, clearance, and aerial line equipment such as pole fuses, lightning arrestors, and D-brackets2. 11. Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of electrical systems, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols. 12. Any other matter deemed necessary by superiors. Qualifications: 1. Certificate of Competency as an Electrical Chargeman A1. 2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical maintenance or a related field. 3. Strong technical and problem-solving skills. 4. Proficient in relevant software and tools. 5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 7. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices. 8. Strong organizational and project management skills.
