Position Summary
As a Supply Chain Manager, you are to drive supply chain operations to ensure that finished goods are available to meet customers demand and satisfaction, both B2B and B2C. All at the right location, at the right moment and whilst meeting quality and safety standards, aligned to HQ Supply Chain process & guidelines and managing costs.
Additionally, you are to also oversees the demand plan for Malaysia in accordance to Nespresso Demand Planning best practices, including close contact with local Marketing, Commercial teams and flawless boutique supply operations.
A day in the life of Supply Chain Manager / Job Details:
Manage Warehouse & Logistics to deliver Operational Excellence
- Ensure operational excellence in Distribution & Fulfillment Management by consistently delivering exceptional 3PL services
- Implement the distribution network plans for the market
- Propose new distribution services in close collaboration with 3rd party vendors and internal stakeholders
- Guarantee compliance with Nestlé Corporate Business Principles and Supply Chain Policies
- Assure that legal obligations are met or exceeded (warehousing regulations)
- Secure that all aspects of our Warehousing operations are compliant with NNHQ policies and processes: Apply Warehousing Best Practices / Organize tenders and select the most suitable warehousing and transport partners / Negotiate contracts with Procurement processes and establish a sound relationship with the service providers including robust conflict management.
Third Party Management
- Effectively manage Third Party Providers and Service Level Agreements by monitoring interactions and tracking continuously the aligned KPIs, identifying potential problems, and determining appropriate actions to mitigate risks and ensure quality
- Capitalize on international networks to achieve specific business objectives within budget.
- Monitor ways of working of Third Parties to ensure that it is in line with the Nespresso brand purpose and in compliance with local regulations and Nestlé standards and policies.
- Drive improvement and innovation development opportunities in the services delivered by Third Party Providers and collaborate effectively with Third Party Providers to realize said improvement or innovation.
- Provide input to procurement based on expertise and requirements prior to signing contracts and Service Level Agreements with Third Parties.
Management Team Responsibilities Budget Management
- Drive the organization’s business results by making tactical and operational decisions
- Promote cost saving initiatives to improve the performance and costs in warehousing and deliveries
- Support the BEO in making optimal investments and decisions in the OP process for both CAPEX and OPEX
- Manage and monitor the budget within the subdepartment
- Ensure correct construction, control and management of the budget for warehousing activities (cost budget for warehousing operations and possible investment requirements)
- Responsible for setting an adequate Warehousing costs dashboard for on-going monitoring
- Drive improvements and efficiencies in the organization by collaborating with other departments
Manage Demand Planning
- Oversee the Supply and Demand plan by applying best practices, improving processes, analyzing sales history and forecast data including stock coverage.
- Liaise with B2C and B2B and Marketing to ensure that all necessary launch or phase-out information has been correctly considered in the supply and demand plan
- Lead the Monthly Forecast Review (MFR) meeting and implement the outcome
- Lead the MFR process, DPA and BIAS learning and ensure continuous improvement process with commercials teams.
- Ensure SKU reduction programs being performed
- Ensure knowledge transfer on planning concept and method to the Commercial Teams, to enable them to better understand what is required from them.
- Challenge Commercial forecasts based on statistical analysis
People & Performance Management
- Develop the personal effectiveness of the team by regular coaching and implementation of learning activities
- Build a strong team where team members collaborate effectively and understand their shared goals and purpose
- Set individual performance goals that provide a clear line of sight to organizational priorities and monitor progress towards achievement of goals by use of the PDP methodology
- Lead by example in terms of NLF behaviors and safety leadership
- Build the Nespresso culture by promoting and supporting a happy, healthy and safe working environment that encourages teamwork, ambition and a high level of professionalism
- Ensure cross training so that effective backups exist across the team.
HQ & Market Reporting
- Ensure on-time report submission i.e. DPA report, OOS report, Key supplier service information, MBP participation KPI etc.
- Manage slow-moving inventory, food products aging report on a market level
Main requirements
- Experience in a similar capacity with an International Company would be an advantage (Demand and Supply Planning, Inter-market Supply Planning).
- Education: MSc/MA level Supply Chain Management
- Professional experience: 3-5 years’ Experience in Supply Chain Management
- Professional experience: 5-8 years’ Experience in DSP, Warehousing and Last-mile logistics with a high quality consumer centric mindset (experienced preferably in a high end luxury brand or FMCG direct to consumers)
- Experienced people manager
- Experienced with Lean methodologies and 3rd Party Management
- Experience in managing complex projects
