RESPONSIBILITIES:

Environment

1. Enforce and ensure compliance of all environmental laws and regulations and any Company standards and Company volunteer compliance obligations.

2. Develop and facilitate implementation of environmental management plan (EMP) and programmes.

3. Maintain an effective administration system, ensuring that all environmental checks are recorded and records maintained as per environmental system requirements (e.g Chemical register, CHRA, SDS, etc)

4. Develop and review procedures and systems and drive their implementation (e.g. hazardous (scheduled) waste management, complaint handling, environmental aspect and impact, etc.)

5. Schedule, coordinate and conduct environmental audit by a third party including auditor accredited with Department of Environment (DOE), ISO 14001 certification auditor, etc.

6. Monitor, analyse, report and communicate on Company’s environmental performance, activities and issues.

7. Investigate environmental incidents or complaints.

8. Develop and conduct environmental training programmes and assist in identifying Company environmental training needs

Safety & Health

1. Assist Safety & Health officer to carry out audits and put up recommendations on effectiveness of Health and Safety systems and procedure for Safety & Health Officer consideration as for further improvement. Assist in the preparation, maintenance and distribution of Health and Safety documents are for audit certification purposes.

2. Assist Safety & Health officer to ensure the respective department managers complies with current health and safety legislation such as the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994, FMA1967, EQA1974, BOMBA Act 1988 and other approved codes of practice related to HSSE only.

3. Assist to carry out rectification action to mitigate the impact and likelihood of health and safety risks as recommended by Safety & Health officer.

4. To carry out daily patrolling and inspection for the workers and sub-con workers at Lot 873 and Lot 875 workshop and compound factory.

5. Assist Safety & Health Officer in organizing Safety Awareness Program, Toolbox Meeting and Emergency Response Training Program or safety drills, as and when required.

6. Assist in conducting incident investigation and root cause analysis, implement corrective and preventive actions for any near miss case and accident investigation.

7. Responsible for permit work system and staging inspection, work at heights, work in confined space and etc.

8. The above job description is by no mean exhaustive. Additional responsibilities may be given to you as and when it is deemed necessary.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS REQUIRED:

1. Candidate must possess at least Degree (Environment/ Health/ Safety/Engineering, Science or equivalent), with at least 1 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.

2. Knowledge and a proven track record of delivery of health and safety management systems and the provision of advice within the public sector (preferably within manufacturing industry).

3. Familiar with the Acts such as the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994, FMA1967, EQA1974, BOMBA Act 1988.

4. Good written and verbal skill in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

5. The ability to work as a team with other departments.

6. Confident and assertive with a self-motivated approach and flexible attitude.

7. Strong problem solving and analytical skills and able to cope with pressure and work in tight deadlines.

8. Able to work beyond the normal office hours to attend to meetings, emergency events and etc.

9. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and the ability to prepare monthly Safety & Health Report.

10. Physically fit.

11. Willing to travel to project sites as and when required.

Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
