Job Description
This position is part of the Pricing team and is integral to our process of accounting for customer discounts and rebates and offers a clear path for growth. The primary responsibilities associated with this role include:
- Assist with managing the rebate process from beginning to end
- Interface with the Pricing & Revenue accounting team to understand the terms of the rebate program
- Interface with the Sales team to understand the performance of the rebate program
- Accurately and completely organize, log and track deals approved with rebates
- Interface with the Sales team on a monthly basis to gather sell-out information and ensure actual activity is appropriately accounted for
- Interface with relevant stakeholders to obtain documentation supporting claims taken by our customers and ensure the documentation is appropriate
- Complete all period close tasks and entries for rebate accounts and deals
- On a monthly basis, review the accruals associated with programs recorded for each customer and validate the programs are appropriately accounted for
- Reconcile rebate accounts to ensure accurate reporting
- Dispute rebate discrepancies with customers
- Research, validate or dispute customer audits
- Support rebate deal data prep for internal analysis and decision making
- On a monthly basis, perform an analysis of rebates to ensure the amounts are reasonable and Company-monitored metrics are consistent with Management expectations
- Partner with internal teams to build, streamline and automate the rebate process
- Special projects and other duties as assigned by Management
- Assist with the implementation of Vistex and become an integral member of the transition team to ensure this tool is implemented and operating as intended
Qualifications
Required:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or similar. Or, in lieu of a degree, sufficient years of experience equivalent with a mid-level accounting professional in an individual contributor role
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- High attention to detail
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in gathering, analyzing, and validating information such as monthly sell-out information and customer claims, completing period close tasks, and preparing rebate data for internal analysis.
- Experience in reconciling rebate accounts, disputing discrepancies, and handling customer audits.
Preferred:
- Strong accounting fundamentals and experience working in a publicly traded company, ideally in the consumer-goods space
- Experience in accounting for customer rebates, ideally with experience in automating that process
- Experience with SAP
- Experience in implementing Vistex and supporting transition
