Position Purpose and Nature
- The Project Manager will be responsible for executing solar PV projects while maintaining budget and schedule.
- The position will manage and direct project management activities from initial preparation, such as drafting relevant proposals and supporting documents, and act as a liaison between clients, stakeholders, engineers, contractors, third-party construction managers, and other consultants during the execution phase of a project. This position will also be responsible for coordinating during the execution phase and closing out projects. This position may have little to full responsibility for entitlement, design, and preconstruction projects.
- The candidate must deliver positive results and assume accountability for delivering projects on an approved schedule and on the budget to maintain value and protect profitability.
Key Accountability and Duties
- Assist the Business Development Manager in exploring new business opportunities within the company's relevant industry.
- Conduct market research pertinent to the company's industry.
- Approach potential customers and set up surveys that will lead to proposal presentations.
- Conduct surveys with assistance from the relevant department head, if required.
- Present proposals to potential customers and liaise with relevant department heads when the contract is about to be initiated.
- Develop marketing materials to raise public awareness of the company’s programs.
- Initiate plans to drive project execution, including feasibility studies, while ensuring the project remains on schedule and within budget. Maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and vendors throughout the process.
- Provide top-quality customer service to clients and all stakeholders, while managing project budgets, schedules, and documentation using Office 365 systems, Wrike, and other tools.
- Initiate and present project progress updates, key findings, and recommendations, including evaluating installers’ progress reports to effectively manage project risks.
- Engage and coordinate internal resources, engineers, consultants, and solar installers in the preparation and execution of project plans, ensuring compliance with local authorities such as ST, TNB, and SEDA. This includes conducting weekly calls or meetings with contractors to discuss project updates.
- Coordinate and manage solar installers, conduct project meetings, and provide weekly progress reports to clients.
- Review and take ownership of project budgets, including costs for permits and fees, third-party consultants, and construction costs for both off-site and on-site work, based on project schedules for construction and delivery.
- Assist in preparing and negotiating construction bid amounts and contract terms, including preparing bills of quantities (BOQ), material specifications, and scope of work (SOW) method statements.
- Collaborate closely with Business Development team members by providing recommendations to enhance and improve building and site configurations.
- Conduct site evaluations and due diligence, including hiring consultants and overseeing their work when necessary.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the CEO and the Management of Daya Bersih Sdn Bhd as needed.
General Qualification Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or equivalent or at least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably from an appropriate industry with proven experience managing solar energy projects, etc.
· Advanced project management expertise, adept at handling multiple projects concurrently with extensive knowledge of solar energy systems and cutting-edge technologies.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with proven knowledge of relevant regulations and safety standards.
· Proficiency in project management tools and software, and familiarity with Windows and MS Office.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Contract
Contract length: 24 months
Pay: RM4,001.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
