Position Summary:
The Assistant Orphanage Manager supports the Orphanage Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the orphanage. This role involves ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of the children under care, while assisting in managing staff, operations, and resources. The Assistant Orphanage Manager must be compassionate, organized, and committed to fostering a nurturing environment. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to handle crises, and a dedication to upholding high standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Child Welfare and Development:
· Assist in ensuring the safety, health, and emotional well-being of all children in the orphanage.
· Support the implementation of educational, recreational, and developmental programs for children.
· Facilitate access to medical care, counselling, and other essential services, as needed.
· Assist in developing individualized care plans for children, working closely with caregivers and social workers.
2. Staff Support and Supervision:
· Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising orphanage staff, including caregivers and administrative personnel.
· Help assign duties, monitor performance, and conduct staff evaluations under the guidance of the Orphanage Manager.
· Support team-building efforts, professional development, and the creation of a positive work environment.
3. Operations Support:
· Aid in managing the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and organizational standards.
· Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve efficiency and care quality.
· Help maintain accurate records of children’s progress, staff schedules, and other necessary documentation.
4. Financial and Resource Management:
· Support the management of the budget, ensuring resources are used efficiently.
· Assist in identifying funding opportunities and supporting efforts to secure grants, donations, and partnerships.
· Help with the maintenance of inventory and ensure facilities, equipment, and supplies are adequately stocked.
5. Stakeholder Engagement:
· Assist in building and maintaining relationships with government agencies, NGOs, donors, and community organizations.
6. Compliance and Reporting:
· Ensure compliance with local laws, child protection regulations, and organizational policies.
· Assist in preparing and submitting reports to relevant authorities and stakeholders.
· Support the Orphanage Manager in addressing any incidents and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
7. Other Duties:
· Perform any other tasks as assigned by the superior.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Child Development, Psychology, Business Administration or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in childcare, childcare management, principle, pediatrics or a related field.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle crises effectively and make decisions under pressure.
- Familiarity with budget management and resource allocation.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Passion for the mission and values of the orphanage.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
