Key responsibilities of a cooking demonstrator:
- Food preparation: Preparing dishes according to provided recipes, ensuring proper presentation and quality while cooking in front of an audience.
- Demonstration delivery: Clearly explaining cooking steps, techniques, and key ingredients while engaging with the audience through commentary and answering questions.
- Product promotion: Highlighting the features and benefits of specific ingredients or products being used in the demonstration.
- Sample serving: Distributing food samples to the audience, providing information about the taste and potential applications.
- Set-up and clean-up: Setting up demonstration stations with necessary ingredients, equipment, and displays, as well as cleaning up the workspace after the demonstration.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Culinary skills: Strong cooking knowledge and ability to prepare a variety of dishes with accuracy and speed.
- Communication skills: Excellent verbal communication to clearly explain cooking techniques and engage with the audience.
- Presentation skills: Confidence in presenting food visually appealing and demonstrating cooking steps in a clear manner.
- Customer service: Ability to interact positively with customers, answer questions, and address concerns.
- Food safety knowledge: Awareness of proper food handling and sanitation practices
