Key Responsibilities/Tasks in Settlement (in general): 1. Trade Matching and Confirmation: o Ensuring trade details (e.g., quantity, price, counterparties) match between the buyer and seller. o Liaising with brokers, custodians, and clearinghouses to resolve discrepancies. 2. Clearing: o Working with clearinghouses to ensure all trades are verified and ready for settlement. 3. Processing Payments: o Facilitating the transfer of funds between parties involved in the trade. o Ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments in various currencies. 4. Custody and Delivery: o Managing the transfer of securities from the seller to the buyer’s custody account. o Ensuring the correct securities are delivered to the correct accounts. 5. Reconciliation: o Monitoring and reconciling trade records with brokers, custodians, and banks. o Investigating and resolving any mismatches or issues. 6. Compliance: o Adhering to regulatory requirements for trade settlement processes. o Ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping for audits and compliance checks. 7. Handling Settlement Failures: o Addressing trades that fail to settle on time (e.g., due to incorrect details, lack of funds, or securities). o Coordinating resolutions with counterparties and financial institutions. 8. Systems Knowledge: o Using settlement systems or platforms like SWIFT, Euroclear, DTCC, or other proprietary systems to manage settlement workflows. Must Have: 1. 10+ years of experience working in middle office operations, collateral support, trading processing. 2. Working level knowledge of collateral management, ISDA and CSA documentation 3. Knowledge of Private Equity and Alternative Credit products is an asset 4. Experience in leading small teams in an Investment Operations environment is preferred. Good to Have: • Investment Accounting Systems (PAM, FAM, Portia, Clearwater, etc) • Advanced knowledge of Bloomberg AIM.
